|

• Our story
The Heron in Marathon was opened in 1988 in response to the needs of local families who were unable to manage the mental illness of a loved one. In 1999, the program was expanded with the development of the Peacock Apartments in Key West. Heron-Peacock Supported Living programs now serve a total of 44 people who have mental illness, some of whom were formerly homeless. Residents also include the sons and daughters, and husbands and wives of local families.
• Our Staff
Our staff include paid employees, supplemented by volunteers from all over the world. These caring and dedicated interns come to
Heron-Peacock to experience life and work in the United States. The volunteers reside in the same facilities as our residents, providing 24 hour supervision and assistance.
